Rif. 3638: CAMERA SPECIALIST (FILM & BROADCAST)
COMPANY:
A leading, well-established, and growing Italian System integrator specializing in cutting-edge Audiovisual technical services for TV and cinema production, post-production, Media Asset Management (MAM), broadcast playout and archiving, as well as streaming services.
SCOPE OF WORK:
The Camera Specialist is a technical leader focused on evangelism, presentations, and after-sales support for broadcast cameras (studio, and live production) and film cameras. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and interpersonal skills to enhance the company’s reputation, provide excellent customer support, and promote interest in new technologies.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technology Evangelism
• Communicate trends in emerging technologies and their integration with the company’s products;
• Lead seminars and webinars to share technical knowledge and best practices;
• Gather customer feedback to inform product improvements and guide development.
Demonstrations and Presentations
• Organize hands-on demonstrations showcasing camera capabilities;
• Represent the company at trade shows, open days, and corporate events;
• Develop demo content, including video tutorials and live streams.
After-Sales Support
• Assist customers with camera setup and usage;
• Troubleshoot technical issues, both remotely and onsite;
• Ensure firmware and software updates are effectively implemented and communicated.
TEAM STRUCTURE:
• Reports directly to the Commercial Director;
• Works alongside 2 Sales Managers, 2 others Subject Matter Specialists, and 3 Sales Coordinators;
• Functionally trains 8 Maintenance Technicians, who report to the Technical Support Manager.
MANDATORY GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum 5 years of experience (in Italy or other European countries), in a similar role, or as a Director of Photography, Technical Director, Lighting Director, or Broadcast Technician/Engineer specializing in cameras;
• Italian native speaker with good English proficiency (minimum B2 level), or native English speaker (Italian not required);
• College-level education or equivalent.
MANDATORY TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• In-depth knowledge of broadcast and film cameras:
o Expertise in cameras and film cameras, sensors, lenses, recording formats, lighting techniques, and post-production workflows;
o Familiarity with major brands (Sony, RED, ARRI, Blackmagic, Grass Valley);
o Proficiency in emerging technologies (8K, HDR, IP-based workflows);
o Advanced understanding of high frame rates, RAW recording, custom color profiles, and LUTs;
• Setup and Configuration:
o Skilled in configuring and optimizing cameras for studio, live, and film production;
o Knowledge of integration with auxiliary systems (e.g., dollies, stabilizers, drones);
• Troubleshooting:
o Ability to solve complex technical issues, including calibrations, firmware updates, and control interfaces;
• Continuous Learning:
o Staying updated on advancements in digital sensors, codecs, and high-resolution recording technologies.
SOFT SKILLS:
• Communication and Presentation:
o Strong ability to engage both technical professionals (camera operators, DoPs) and business stakeholders (producers, technical directors).
o Simplifying complex concepts into clear, persuasive messages.
• Training Delivery:
o Designing and delivering workshops, training sessions, and webinars.
• Technology Evangelism:
o Inspiring enthusiasm for new technologies and company products.
• Interpersonal Skills:
o Empathy and active listening to understand and anticipate client’s needs.

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:
• Experience in content creation (e.g. technical videos, articles).
• Proficiency in additional languages beyond Italian and English.
CONTRACT:
Permanent employment under the Italian “CCNL Commercio” contract.
For senior candidates, a consulting contract may also be considered.
WORKPLACE:
Following an induction period (duration and location based on the candidate’s technical level), the successful candidate may be based anywhere in Italy, as long as willing to travel to clients’ sites, events, trade shows, and training sessions, both in Italy and abroad.
